Advisory Update: October 09: Cyanobacteria Bloom in Upper Lagoon Pond
This is an updated Town of Oak Bluffs Health Department map indicating the cyano bacteria advisory as of date of map. The map noted 10.09.25 illustrates those locations. The area at the head of the lagoon has continued to show varying degrees of cyano bacteria presence. The original algal mat noted in mid-August disappeared. As of now the alerts indicated are in affect. The remaining areas of the Lagoon have not been re-tested since August 26, but we have no reason to believe there are any issues elsewhere in the pond. At this time, we have a yellow alert for the area just north and south of the Herring Run.
